CO-OWNER AND COACH
I have been a competitive athlete for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was involved in many school and community sports, but eventually narrowed in on competitive swimming. I was a competitive swimmer for over 15 years, competing for the University of Victoria and at National level competitions.
After my retirement from swimming, I was looking for a new challenge to fill the athletic void in my life. I was lucky to find CrossFit in 2013 and knew that I was hooked after the first class!
I instantly fell in love with the intensity, the daily challenges, and most importantly, the people. The CrossFit community is unlike anything else and I look forward to coming to the box everyday!
I took my CrossFit level 1 in 2016 and have enjoyed coaching ever since, with my favourite part being when I witness members finally get the “Ah ha” moment and watching them achieve something they’d previously thought impossible.
I truly believe that so much that is taught and learnt in CrossFit can be applied to your daily life and I look forward to watching members achieve their goals both inside and outside the gym!

Hey everyone, Bill here. Fort McMurray is home where I live with my beautiful wife Shailee and our two doggos. I grew up in Saskatchewan and spent several years as Assistant coach to the Saskatoon Rowing Club as well as an avid provincial level competitor. After graduating from Mechanical Engineering I moved to Fort McMurray and later joined CrossFit Crude in 2015.
I started as a complete beginner. Despite getting my butt kicked I loved the camaraderie while making new friends in the community. Today CrossFit gives me my foundation and the ability to branch into many interests including mountaineering, running, triathlon, and hiking.

COACH
CrossFit: 7 years and counting!
Favourite Wod: Looong chippers or a partner wod!
Favourite Movement: Deadlifts OR sandbag over shoulder
Something you don’t know about me: I am an avid woodworker and LOVE to mow lawns
Sports History: I grew up playing every sport under the sun and loved the competition and challenge each one gave me. I still play hockey and love a good challenging game of badminton!
Coaching Experience: I have been coaching hockey both on and off the ice for 9 years for various teams, academies, camps, tryouts and seminars. I have also coached high school badminton teams and multi level skating lessons.
What do I love most about CrossFit: CrossFit is challenging, motivating, competitive, and has so many different skills and techniques that you are always pushing, growing, goal setting to achieve. But most of all, it is a community of supportive individuals who will celebrate each other no matter your age or skill level! CrossFit has changed my life, and I look forward to throwing down with a group of like minded athletes every single day.
Outside of the gym you will find me in my woodshop working away with music that is probably too loud, doing jiu jitsu, playing hockey or outside hiking/hunting and adventuring with my husband and our pups Bruce and Titan.

COACH
My name is Aiden. I have been training at Crossfit Crude for 2 years now. I started training crossfit in 2011 to supplement my fitness for hockey. I have been training Crossfit ever since and love the community and competitiveness that comes with training. I started coaching crossfit and hockey dryland in 2018 and only stopped when I moved to Fort McMurray in 2020. My favourite workouts are Hero Workouts, the workouts are some of the hardest created and completing them is very personally rewarding. I look forward to training with and coaching everyone!

Hello! I'm Megan - a real born & raised Fort Mac kid - so if you're looking to meet one of those, you should probably come check out a HIIT class at CrossFit Crude! I've been teaching group fitness classes since January 2017 and my love for sweaty work out sessions with friends + community has been filling my bucket ever since!
I wasn't always into fitness though, I wasn't on any sports teams as a kid growing up here - however eventually I hired my first personal trainer at 19 and from there the rest is history. I didn't know it then, but my love for fitness would grow into something that would become part of my every day life and it changed my entire life path for the better. I fully enjoy being surrounded by so many unique individuals who are maybe just starting their fitness journey, changing their current paths/trying something different in a fitness class setting, or just looking for new ways to challenge their bodies. Balancing life, work, kids, pets, partners and everything in between can be incredibly challenging - but attending a group fitness class puts you in a safe space with encouraging coaches, members and new friends - and how can you not love that?
If I'm not coaching or teaching fitness - you can find me at Premier Academy participating on the competitive adult cheerleading team (something I never thought I would do in my mid thirities), at the golf course or watching the Oilers with my fiancé Andrew and hanging out with my son Westyn, my two bonus kids Emma & Easton + our funny farm of animals.
Side note - burpees are my favorite.

I’ve had a love of fitness for as long as I can remember. My education is in recreation and leisure, and I have been chasing fitness and body knowledge ever since. I have been certified with Canfitpro, CPTN-CPT, as an Emergency medical responder with the province of Alberta and I have just completed my second CrossFit Level 1 course. I found CrossFit Crude back in Fall 2015. The friendships I have made at Crude has been the most valuable that I have made in this community, and I am so thankful that I get to be a part of the coaching team.

COACH
I’ve lived in Fort McMurray since 2008, working as a high school teacher before transitioning into school counselling in 2022. I’ve had a passion for fitness for many years but when I discovered CrossFit in 2020, it took that passion to a new level. CrossFit has profoundly impacted my mental health, confidence, and physical strength, while also providing stress relief and a sense of accountability through an incredible community of supportive people.
Though I was never particularly into many sports - aside from swimming - CrossFit has motivated me to push my limits and achieve things I never thought possible. My favourite movement is the handstand pushup (being upside down makes me feel powerful!). I also love partner WOD Saturdays for the teamwork, high-energy atmosphere, and the friendly competition they foster!
As a newer coach, I am excited to guide others in their fitness journeys and hopefully help them foster a love for CrossFit, just as my coaches have done for me. I look forward to supporting others as they explore their potential and achieve their goals.

I have always enjoyed playing sports, but growing up I was more into Skateboarding, Snowboarding and Surfing as I got older I got into mountain biking.
At the age of 46 I understand what it feels like to be training with injuries or having wellness goals as opposed to competitive goals.
I started Crossfit in my 40s and I am in the best shape of my life now than I have ever been. What I have learned from CrossFit is that it is for everyone at any age and it is never to early or late to start. All of the movements are functional movements that can translate to our everyday lives.
The community is amazing and every single person I have the pleasure of working out with and coaching is an inspiration for me to be better and I can call a friend.
I really enjoy the variety of the CrossFit workouts they are always different and challenging.
I have a love - hate relationship with Toes to Bar that will probably never go away.
As a new coach, I look forward to
sharing my passion of CrossFit with others and help them succeed in whatever their goals might be .
